Description
Figures in Gearworld paintings are hard. The painting rebels. Sometimes it's just tricky, sometimes it's like riding a greased weasel bareback, and my usual technique of plunking in a small, vaguely-archetypal mammal just fails utterly in Gearworld. Gearworld does not LIKE small mammals, except possibly fried or as part of an art installation involving dead fish and wires.Somehow, the chador allowed me to sneak this woman in under the radar, probably because she could look like anybody under the veil, and all the emotional heavy lifting takes place in the eyelids when you've got a figure with a veil, and the painting went together with no more than the usual agonies. So I was pleased by that.
Beyond that--Painter 7, intuos tablet, nine frantic hammering hours, and no, I don't know who she is or what the Bear Golem is or what unplugging it will do--turn it off, wake it up, no clue. I'm just the artist, dude.
