I have been doing a lot of quick and silly little watercolors lately, the vast majority of which I won't inflict here. (You can visit my website if you want to see how I spend most of my time...) This one, however, had such a doofus-y charm, I couldn't resist. Plesiosaurs need party hats. Maybe they're holding a welcome party for the asteroid. (No! No! Too sad to contemplate! They're not holding a party for the asteroid! It was Bob the Icthyosaur's birthday. Millions of years before the asteroid. Yeah. That's it. Happy birthday, Bob!)

Watercolor/colored pencil/acrylic ink, 8 x 10 on hot press Arches. Original sold, prints available.

That is very, very cute Ursula! I could hang that on my wall!

I love their faces!
The water is very well executed (a little bit of a rough patch towards the back, but oh well), and as always your creatures have a very stylistic look.

But I just want to say that if it had been a non-elite artist who had painted this, s/he would never have gotten +7 points! Judge the painting people, not the artist!!

I would've voted max score even if it was from a regular member. It's cute, it has style, it's done very well. I personally can see serious skills at play.

My opinion is that Ursula did something wonderfull here, having in mind that:
1) it was done fast;
2) it was done in watercolor (is there a more unforgiving painting medium to work with);

LOL...absolutely silly! ...and I say that as a compliment. Do you do any children's book illustration? You could definitely be one of the greats in that field I am sure of it.
