Description

Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 36. The photoshoot on this sucker killed me, and I had to spend two hours in Photoshop mucking about with CMYK channels to achieve some semblance of the original. But, success at last--this is pretty close.

Took about three days, including the hour I called up my mother (an experienced painter of tree bark) and said "Mommmm! Heeeelllp!" She calls me up with Photoshop questions, I call her with real media questions. It works...

The work on the bark and the use of such a limited palette is impressive. It could come out of a child fantasy story..sweet!

That creature frightens me... the black hole in the face... eep. I have to disagree with the first poster, that it could come out of a "child fantasy story" - more like a horror story

Well I can safely say this would take me about a year... so slow with painting. @.@ I don't even try to salvage pics that get butchered by the camera, don't have the energy after doing the original in the first place. Anyway, do you remember me Ursula? ^_^; I kinda gave up with Elfwood a while ago, so loong with the updates... not that I consistently update anyway, but shutting up now...
